There are 7 components of the e-Commerce widget:

• Category Menu;
• Products List;
• Banner Rotator;

Category Menu

When creating a website you can easily link it to your actual online store which is already created. But it’s better to create a products catalog on the home page of your website (or choose another website page on your liking). A products catalog is one of the most important features which site visitors are looking for first of all, so don’t neglect this chance to grab their attention at first sight. Open ‘Widgets’ – ‘e-Commerce’ – ‘Category menu’ and place it on a page. Double click will open the widget for editing (the ‘Edit Widget’ button on the lower right corner of the control panel will do the same).

The ‘Category Menu’ window allows to create new products’ categories using the ‘Add New Item’ button and rename them. Double click on a category folder will open it for the further editing.

Now you can create Subcategories and Products using the ‘Add New Item’ button. There are also the ‘Add New Items’ button which allows to add several products at once.

When the product is created you can complete its description:

• Product code;
• Regular price;
• Sale price;
• Brand name;
• Model;
• Product thumbnail;
• Short description;
• Full description;

Choosing a product thumbnail you should better give preferences to square images, they will look better in the Product List.

To fill in a preview information double click on the product and create a new item there. You should upload a preview picture for the ‘Image Thumbnail Lightbox’ (we cropped a 250 square pixels), a small preview picture for thumbnails list in the ‘Product Details Lightbox’ (it is also a product thumbnail we already used) and the large preview which is for the ‘Product Details Lightbox’ fullscreen preview (it can be an image or a video).

Now you can easily make some style for the ‘Category Menu’:

• Orientation (Vertical/Horizontal);
• Category button style (Text padding, vertical/horizontal spacing, Button colors, Button alpha, Button corner radius, Button stroke thickness );
• Subcategory button style (Width/Height, Text padding, Button colors, Button background alpha, Button corner radius, Button stroke thickness ).

Products List

This widget was created to display items from the ‘Category Menu’ (and it should be placed on the same page as the ‘Category menu’ and ‘Products Details’). Please place it on the same page with the ‘Category Menu’ widget and connect them with each other with the help of the e-Commerce connection ID. On the screenshot you can see the ‘store1′ connection ID but you can choose any letters and numbers you like (just make sure that this ID is the same for ‘Category Menu’, ‘Products List’ and ‘Product Details’ widgets.).

All products items which you created in the ‘Category Menu’ will be automatically displayed in your ‘Products List’.

Also you can easily edit widget settings, such as:

• Navigation style (Navigation text style, Text over color, Products count label, Next/Previous labels, No products message);
• Sort style (Text style, Sort background color, Sort button style, Sort stroke color, Sort by label, Default sort method, Labels names);
• Product style (Width, Height, Content padding, Background color and alpha, Corner radius, Stroke thickness, color and alpha, Title style, Description style, Sale price style, Regular price style, Price placement);
• Product image style (Width, Height, Vertical/Horizontal padding, Background color and alpha);
• Buy button style (Button label, Button width and height, icon settings, Background style, Corner radius, Stroke thickness, Stroke color, Over top color, Over bottom color).

The default currency of the e-Commerce widget is the United States dollar (USD, $) but you can choose other currency. Choose ‘Preferences’ (from the main top menu of the control panel) – ‘Website Preferences’ and change the currency label.

Banner Rotator

If you have some featured products on your store or there are several hot deals you probably would like to advertize on your home page then you should definitely appreciate this new component. Go to the ‘Widgets’ – ‘e-Commerce’ – ‘Banner Rotator’ and find the best place to locate the banner, then double click it and add a new item for the banner. The image you need to display is a medium size preview picture. You can link it to any page or popup or even to an outside resource. Please don’t forget to press the ‘Add’ button to add the item to the ‘Banner Rotator’. Thus you can add several items in rotation.

Now we have the ready-made banner with two products in rotation. You can adjust it’s settings:

• Background style (Background color and alpha, Corner radius, Stroke thickness, Stroke color);
• Text style (Corner align, Content horizontal/vertical padding);
• Image style (Image align, Image scaling mode);
• Pagination style (Spots horizontal/vertical padding, Spot color and alpha, Selected spot color).

Shopping Cart

A shopping cart is a must have part of every e-Commerce website, so here it is into the MotoCMS e-Commerce widget. All you need to do is to find the ‘Shopping Cart’ among others e-Commerce components and place it on the website.

This widget shows how many items there are in the customers’ Shopping cart list. To display items which are already into the shopping cart please create a new page/popup where the ‘Shopping Cart List’ will be located and then link the ‘Shopping Cart’ to a new website section.

Shopping Cart List

Now it’s time for the ‘Shopping Cart List’ component. Open the page or popup you’ve previously created for the ‘Shopping cart List’ widget. Find this widget among other components of the e-Commerce widget and place it on the page.

There are some properties for editing:

• Basic settings (Table title style, Item text style, After checkout redirect, Table fields labels, Footer X/Y offset, Table border color, Remove icon item, );
• Payment Settings (Payment system: PayPal, Google Checkout, Robox, Using email);
• Checkout button style (Label, Width, Height, Icon placement and padding, Background style, Corner radius, Stroke thickness).

So here is how your shopping cart list will look like:

Product Details

The ‘Products Details’ widget is a very useful one which will display a detailed information about store products when you click on their images. This product description will be opened in a new popup. To make the widget work correctly please connect it with the ‘Category Menu’ widget within the e-Commerce connection ID.

In stead of the fact that the ‘Products Details’ window is automatically arranged there are numerous settings which can be adjusted:

• Basic settings (Image X/Y offset, Title text style, Short description style, Regular and Sale price style, Image width/height, Image background and border color );
• Close button settings (X/Y offset,, Width/Height, Icon settings);
• Background style (Height, Corner radius, Stroke thickness and color, background color);
• Description style (Track width and padding, Description width and height, Description vertical padding);
• Buy button style (Close button width and height, Icon placement and padding, background style, );
• Thumbnails settings (Images number, Stroke thickness);
• LightBox settings (Slideshow delay, Background color or alpha, Button color and alpha, Video sound volume);
• LightBox thumbnails style (Images number, button colors, Stroke thickness and color);
• LightBox close button (X/Y Offset, Width, Height, Icon placement and padding, background settings);
• LightBox mediaplayer skin (Background color and alpha, elements color and alpha, Active color, Fonts style).

Clicking the ‘Preview’ button under the ‘Product Details LightBox’ you can view style changes which were made to the window. Please note that this option schematically shows how the information will be displayed on the website.

Add to Cart Button

You can insert the ‘Add to Cart button’ on any page of your online store. The component’s settings allow to specify all product information you need and to attache an image there.

We would like to introduce new features and to show you how to set up the Contact Form in the Moto Flash CMS control panel. So, let’s open the control panel and discover the new opportunities of the Contact Form.

1. How to add the Advanced Contact Form.

You can find the Advanced Contact Form in the Contact Forms category of the Modules menu. Just select it and add to the stage.

When it’s added, double-click it to open the editing window. Create new content and specify its name.

When the “Add” button is clicked, the default items will be displayed. You can drag and resize them the way you want. The same goes for the buttons and the status message field.

2. Item types.

You can add as many items as you need. There are four item types which can be added to the Advanced Contact Form.

They are:

• Text Field
• Select
• CheckBox
• File Upload

Let’s consider each of them.

Text Field

This item type enables text input. Here are the properties that you may set for it:

You can set different order for this item in the contact form and in the e-mail. It can be set with the help of Order in mail and Tab order properties. The Name property specifies the field’s name in the e-mail, while Text to show is the field’s name which will be displayed in the website. If you set the field as required, the contact form message won’t be sent before some data is added.

Additional properties let you:

• add symbols which you don’t want to be input;
• set the maximal field length;
• switch the password display mode;
• enable the multiline mode;
• enable validation.

You can choose one of the validation types for the last property:

• String Validator;
• Email Validator;
• Number Validator;
• Date Validator;

Each validator can be customized with the help of additional properties. The validation error messages can be changed in Configuration – Validation Error Messages.

Select

This is the drop down menu that lets the user select one value from a list. The selected value will be sent in the e-mail. The Select item properties:

The Options property field is multiline, so you can enter as many options as needed. Each option should be added from a new line. The Selected value property lets you choose an option which will be selected in the default state.

CheckBox

CheckBox lets the user select or deselect a specified option. The email from the contact form will notify whether the option was checked or unchecked. The CheckBox item has the following properties:

The Text position property switches between the right and the left position of text in relation to the box. The Selected property lets you choose whether the option should be checked in the default state.

File Upload

And the last item is the File Upload. It lets the user upload a file, which will be sent as an email attachment. Here are the File Upload item properties:

The Allowed Extensions property lets you specify the file extensions which you allow the users to upload. The extensions should be separated by commas with no spaces.  The size of files that can be uploaded is limited by the PHP settings of your server.

3. Form Configuration

If you press the Configuration button, the Form Configuration window will open.

The main parameter which should be set here is the email address which the messages will be sent to. Also you can set the status messages, email subject, text format, validation selection, and the PHP file name. The last option is for advanced users only.

4. The Contact Form Properties

The list of properties is displayed on the right panel when the Contact Form module is selected on the stage.

The Input Text Format and the Message Text Format properties let you change the text parameters for the fields and for the status message.

Submit Button Label and Reset Button Labels are the properties which let you set the contact form buttons labels. The Item Style group of properties lets you adjust the contact form fields appearance. The Button Style properties perform the visual adjustments of the contact form buttons.

1. HTML Widget has been implemented.

This super innovative module makes it possible to paste HTML code over any Flash page for varying the website content.

Please note that all these implementations are displayed on the normal mode only – it is not visible in the control panel and on the fullscreen of the website. It will always be placed over all objects on your website.

2. An ability to create stretchable Moto websites has been added.

You can easily set the height of every single page of the stretchable website. But note that this feature is available only in some cases when our Flash templates suit this function. There will be new templates category where this feature will be available.

From now on all web developers who’s going to create Flash websites based on Moto Flash CMS can build websites with variable height.

This also means that there is a choice of scrollers within the control panel. By editing website preferences it is possible to enable the Flash scrollbar against the common one. You can also manage the scrollbar speed and colors.

3. The Advanced Contact Form has been added.

The updated contact form makes the process of getting feedback much easier.

Within the Contact Form Widget you can edit:

• general Contact form properties (text formats, button labels, blend mode);
• items style (lines thickness and colors, buttons colors, shadow options);
• buttons style (lines thickness and colors, buttons colors, shadow options)

There is also an opportunity to add new items to the Contact form, so that your visitors send more informative messages for you:

• Select item.
• CheckBox item.
• File Upload.

4. The work with YouTube videos has been optimized.

From now on there is an opportunity to embed YouTube videos in the Media Library. You can easily paste your video into wherever you want and then customize video player for any designs.

5. Video Gallery opportunities are extended.

You are also able to find YouTube videos from the Media Library directly (without visiting youtube.com) using the Search YouTube button.

You can also choose a higher or lower quality of displayed YouTube videos. This YouTube Quality Option helps to adapt videos to any screen resolution and speeds of Internet.

6. Social Network Sharing Slot has been implemented.

Website pages can now be shared in social networks with the help of this new slot.

It is also possible to supplement the message with your comments.

7. Placement Attributes are now displayed.

Placement Attributes are displayed at the top toolbar, so by clicking any object you can see its placement (on single pages or on the entire website), ability or disability to be stretched with the website and to snap to other objects, website center or sides.

8. Properties Dependence Option has been included.

This function means that you can hide some detailed settings of those options which you don’t want to enable right now. It will visually decrease the quantity of displayed settings and help you not to miss a thing.

• Activate the “Preload Module” function, choose the block’s size parameters, rotation angle and blend mode.

3. Contact Form module improved.

• The Contact Form display in the control panel is now identical to the one on the website.
• The tab order of the form fields can now be changed together with their order in the e-mail with results.

4. The process of saving content has been optimized. Content XML files now occupy less space.

• The “Compress & Preview Website” option compresses XML files to improve the website loading time. This option can be used when the website editing has been finished. If choosing the “Save” option after the option “Compress & Preview Website”, the compressed files will be replaced by the uncompressed ones.

5. Font smoothing for the custom fonts has been added that significantly improves the appearance:

• MotoUtils.setHTMLTextFromPropertyVO(target:TextField, propertyVO:PropertyVO, caching:Boolean = false):void – Assigns the HTML text to the text field with the specific motoCMS parameters.
• MotoUtils.setHTMLParametersFromPropertyVO(target:TextField, propertyVO:PropertyVO, caching:Boolean = false):void – Assigns specific motoCMS HTML parameters to the text field.
• MotoUtils.getRasterize(target:DisplayObject, clip:Rectangle = null):Bitmap – Gets the rasterization of the specified visual object.
• MotoUtils.getStageTLPoint():Point – Returns the top left point of flash movie considering the current stage.align value.
• MotoUtils.translatePropertyVO(propertyType:uint, propertyVO:PropertyVO):PropertyVO – Clones propertyVO and sets the specified propertyType.

Also, new classes have been added:

• AbstractTreeInfoModule – Abstract class for the tree-like catalog implementation.
• AbstractDropDownModule – BaseDropDownModule – Base class which implements the DropDown Catalog.
• AbstractMotoMenu – comes from AbstractDropDownModule with backward compatibility realization.
• Updated classes: AbstractMotoObject, AdvancedScrollbar, MotoArranger, AbstractMotoMenu.
• New Classes: AbstractTreeInfoModule, AbstractDropDownModule, BaseDropDownModule.

7.  Other system errors have been fixed and modifications have been made:

• Website display errors in IE9 have been fixed.
• Automatic content recovery on errors have been added.
• External rich content module errors have been fixed.
• Overall control panel performance and responsiveness have been improved.

The RSS Reader collects the news of the project and informs the RSS Feed subscribers about all the updates that take place in the project’s life. The principle of the RSS Feed work is simple: the subscribers can click, for example, on the news headline in order to see a short description of the news, open the original news in a new window or even see the news block with headings, dates and images right within the RSS Feed window.

Due to the built-in RSS Reader Widget, Moto CMS website owners can easily set the parameters of their RSS Feeds. This advanced built-in widget opens the widest opportunities for managing and editing the RSS News Feed within Moto CMS Flash website.

Let’s look inside the control panel and try all the RSS Reader Widget functions one by one:

5.  Cache Control

Caching avoids a roundtrip to the origin web server each time a resource is requested and instead retrieves the file from a cache.

6. Channel Settings

Show Channel Title – enable this function if you wish the Channel title to be displayed while the readers are browsing the news feed.

Channel Title Format – you can change the Channel title, format, select the font’s size, its color, make it bold or italic, etc.

Show Content – you can select the way of displaying your RSS Feed content: you can make it display titles only, Descriptions Only or All.

Also, you can set the News title and text format, make the news date visible or hide it as well as format the date.

Clickable Area — you can make the whole text of the RSS news clickable or make only the news titles clickable.

Crop Image Tag — if this function is enabled, the news images will not be displayed. If you wish the news columns to be presented with images, just disable the function.

Horizontal News Gap, News Enement Gap — you can set the horizontal gap between news elements as well as set the line interval.

7. Slideshow Settings

It is possible to enable the slideshow mode for your news feed, and also set the slideshow interval.

8. Arrows Settings

You can easily modify the navigation arrows of your news feed: set the arrows width and height, select the background for the arrows, specify the arrows background alpha, select color for the arrows and set the arrows alpha. Moreover, it is possible to set the corner radius for the arrows as well as specify the arrows icon size.

9. Slot Settings

You can enable the «Preload Slot» function, set the size parameters of the slot, select its rotation angle and alpha as well as blend the mode (normal, darken, multiply, lighten, screen, overlay, etc.)

Due to the advanced Image Editor powered up by Moto CMS, you can modify your photos right within the control panel. It allows to perform the plenty of editing functions, from simple to complex.

Let’s play with an image and try all the Image Editor options:

Open the Media Library from the Preferences section and select the image you are going to edit. You can do it either by double clicking on the image or with the help of the “View/Edit Item” button below the image.

The right control panel of the Image Editor offers the set of options and tools for the advanced, effective and fast image editing. By means of the left toolbar you can quickly access the Image Editor’s functions.

1. In order to scale our image, we will use Navigator. We may zoom the image in and out from 20% to 400% by dragging the slider. By means of the “FIT”, “1:1” and “1:2” buttons we can make the image to fit to the window size, to use its original size or to zoom it in 2:1.

Due to the option “Save As” we can save the edited photo as a new image.

2. We can flip the image horizontally or vertically, rotate it left or right as well as choose the angle of the image view by means of the Rotate options.

We can resize our image by means of the Transform options: resize it in pixels or set percentage ratio, crop the image (with no constraints, by setting the parameters from the dropdown list or by setting the necessary image size in the “Actual Size” boxes. In the process of resizing the image for cropping, the actual size parameters also change, so we can always check the actual width and height of the image before cropping it.

The Image Editor functionality allows to work with the images of any size, even if its size is more than 2800px. So, you can upload the images directly to the Media Library from your digital camera and then edit them right within the control panel.

4. We can Adjust Colors: change the image Hue and Saturation, and also balance colors for the image and see the percentage of the changes right in the process of dragging the option’s slider.

5. We can add brightness and set the image contrast means of the Brightness and Contrast options.

6. Now let’s add Effects to our image. We can make it grayscale, negative or sepia and add some sharpness and blur. If we enable the “Colorize” option, we will be able to colorize the image by means of the Color Picker. Also, we can set the percentage of the colorization.

7. Of course, you know that optimizing images is a very important task for search engine optimization. Let’s specify the Name and Metadata details for the image for better SEO ranking: change the file name to more informative one, add a descriptive title, alt and tags.

8. If we need to go back or forward to any step of the image editing, we can easily do it – all the steps of the image editing have been saved in the History section of the Image Editor. We just need to choose the item to restore the image to selected state. The “Undo” and “Redo” functions are also available.

9. For the quick access to our images there is the Library section. It is possible to organize images (as well as other files) into folders in Media Library. Due to this convenient Media Library option, it is possible to shorten the number of loading elements in the main Media Library window as well as speed up the process of the file search.

2. Batch Add option. Here is another cool feature you’ll be happy to know – Batch Add, available via Image Gallery module. It is developed to make adding new items to your website gallery much easier and faster. Now you don’t need to add items one by one, as the new option makes it possible to add multiple items simultaneously.

When working with your site gallery and clicking on the Add Items button, you will be able to choose as many items as you need (using CTRL or Shift keys) from your Media Library and add them to your gallery.

You can keep original size of the images or set the new dimensions. Resizing is especially useful when creating thumbnails. Two scaling modes are available – Fill and Fit. Fill mode will crop items to fill the image area with no empty space, Fit mode will resize items without cropping to display the whole image. Resized images can be put in a new folder.

3. Google Maps Module. The GMap module provides an interface to the Google Maps API within MotoCMS. It integrates with the Location module to provide users a clickable map for entering latitude and longitude. GMap can be used to create interactive maps with various map markers and content in map bubbles, taking advantage of MotoCMS other content management features.
